Things to remember while buying a copper bottle

  1. Before you buy a copper bottle, it is imperative to read the information on its wrapper or box. If any other metal has also been mixed with copper, do not buy that bottle.
  2. To check if the copper of the bottle you have bought is authentic, apply lemon to it and then wash it. If its shine remains, then the copper is pure. If not, return the bottle.
  3. The mouth of the copper water bottle should be big. If the mouth of the bottle is small, it won't be easy to clean it, so its water will not be as adequate to drink.
  4. Whether you buy a copper bottle from the store or online, make sure that it is trustworthy. Stay away from fake sellers.
  5. Many copper water bottles have a glass or other metal inside. Do not buy such a copper bottle. Copper should be both inside and outside, then only the water can absorb its beneficial elements.

Copper toxicity

We are all aware that anything in excess is harmful. The same applies to copper. Due to the excess amount of copper in the body, there are side effects on many organs; this is called copper toxicity. To avoid this, take precautions:

  • Limit your intake of copper water to two small glasses each day.
  • Take a break.
  • Do not consume water kept for twelve hours at all.

The bottom line

It is believed in Ayurveda that water from a copper water bottle balances the three doshas – Vata, Kapha, and Pitta and helps cure diseases related to your stomach and throat to a great extent. Many brands in the market are selling mixed metal bottles in the name of copper bottles. So keep your eyes open while buying a copper bottle for yourself.
