Apples

An Apple a Day Keeps a Doctor Away

Doctors always suggest having fiber-rich food to lower down the uric acid level. What does fiber do? It collects uric acid from the bloodstream and dumps the excess uric acid from your body.

That is why apples are good for lowering the uric acid level in the body. Apples are high in dietary fiber content. Not only this, but apples have malic acid, which neutralizes uric acid's effects on the body. Apples also contain pectin, which binds uric acid and flushes it from the body.

Apples are not only suitable to lower uric acid but are fantastic for your overall health also. Start having an apple in the morning.

Try your hand on cherries. Not for taste only but to balance your uric acid level in the bloodstream. Cherries contain anthocyanins. It is a natural anti-inflammatory component that lessens the level of uric acid.

Cherries are full of nutrients and vitamins. You can have all types of berries like strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, etc. So don't think much; have some.

Cucumbers

Carrots and cucumbers are suitable for reducing the level of uric acid. But let's see how.

Carrots are not only good in taste but full of antioxidants also. If you add carrots to your diet, it regulates the production of enzymes that increase uric acid synthesis in the bloodstream. Along with this, carrots have high fiber content, and they flush out the excess uric acid from the body

Like carrots, cucumbers are also an outstanding option for people with high uric acid in the bloodstream. You can have carrots and cucumbers in your salad. Sprinkle some salt and black pepper; your salad is ready to eat.

Vegetables

When you are diagnosed with high uric acid, you cannot eat all vegetables. It is due to the high purines content in some vegetables. So it would be good for your health if you start avoiding vegetables like spinach, peas, asparagus, and cauliflower. These vegetables are rich in purines and can increase your uric acid level in the bloodstream. And it can lead to a gout attack.

You can replace these with low in purines vegetables like tomatoes, broccoli, and cucumbers. Don't forget to add these veggies to your meals from today.

Eat Vitamin C-rich Fruits

Vitamin C helps to flush out the excess uric acid from the blood. You can have oranges, lemon, kiwi, etc. One study has shown that consuming 500 mg of Vitamin C daily can decrease the uric acid level in a short period.

Green Tea

Green tea contains a high level of antioxidants content. One antioxidant called catechin presents green tea in high quantities. It slows down the production of a particular type of enzyme in the body. This enzyme is responsible for the formation of uric acid. Once the enzyme production is controlled, the level of uric acid will decrease.

Sometimes, the uric level increases because you are taking medicine for other health conditions. You can call it medicinal-induced uric acid. If you stop that particular medicine, your uric acid level naturally reduces.

These are readily available foods that you can add to your diet. Besides these foods, drink a lot of water and avoid alcohol. Also, stay away from foods that are high in purines. Trust me; you can control your uric acid on your own if it's not too high. Along with medicine, diet plays a vital role. So don't ignore your food habits also.
