What is anemia?

Anemia

Are you feeling tired all the time? If yes, then you can have anemia. Anemia is a blood disorder where your red blood cell count or hemoglobin is less than usual. The most prevalent anemia is iron-deficiency anemia. You might be wondering about iron deficiency anemia. Let me shed some light on this. Your body requires iron to make hemoglobin. If your body doesn't have enough iron, there isn't sufficient iron in your bloodstream also.

Iron plays a significant role in blood production. Did you know that 70 percent of your body's iron is present in the red blood cells of your blood called hemoglobin? Hemoglobin is imperative for carrying oxygen in your blood from the lungs to the body tissues.

Due to iron deficiency, your body's tissues can't get the amount of oxygen it requires.

Blood Circulation

Ayurveda explained anemia as an imbalance of the Agni element of the body. It starts flowing in an abnormal direction. Your hemoglobin count dropped down due to this. Long-term negligence towards anemia can cause various complications. It can harm your lungs as well as your heart. Do you know the name of anemia in Ayurveda? It is called PANDU.

It is crucial to diagnose anemia for early treatment. But how will you get to know if you have anemia or not? Symptom knowledge can help you in early diagnosis. So before anemia treatment, let's understand its symptoms first.
